Sherry S. Mauldin
Asheville - Sherry Lee Sharp Mauldin, 71, passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at John F. Keever Solace Center.
Sherry was a native of Syracuse, Kansas but had lived the past 25 years of her life in Asheville. Most of her life was spent in Shreveport, Louisiana and she was the daughter of the late Richard and Evelyn Ocker Sharp. Sherry was preceded in death by a son, Wayne Gantt; a great-grandson, Levi Stevens; and three sisters, Brenda Harrell, Sue Guinn, and Linda Holloway. She was a member of Pole Creek Baptist Church and a valued member of Jim Barkley Toyota of Asheville.
Sherry is survived by three daughters, Allecca Tucker and Pamela Perkins, both of Bossier City, Louisiana and Lisa Chandler of Athens, Louisiana; two sons, Michael Gantt of Mount Pleasant, Michigan and Douglas Gantt of Bossier City, Louisiana; three sisters, Debbie Sharp of Mesquite, Texas, Kathy Sullivan of Marshall, Texas and Lynette Morris of Linden, Texas; one brother, Terry Sharp of Marshall, Texas; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 12, 2019, at Pole Creek Baptist Church with the Reverend Ben Heise officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
